YOUTH MINISTRY
From our
Vision Statement:
We lift up as of highest importance the young people
of our church. We pledge to involve them in every
aspect of congregational life.
We will use every resource at our disposal
to share with them the light of a living faith.
With that in mind, David's offers a wide variety of
Christian growth and
fellowship opportunities for our youth.
Christian Growth Opportunities
Nursery - Available during both worship services and the Christian Growth time (Sundays
at 9:15) for infants through age three.
Diversity City - Sunday School like you haven't seen it before! An approach which teaches
faith using active learning. pre-kindergarten through sixth graders move to
different learning modules each Sunday studying key Biblical events for a month
at a time.
A New Space - Discussion about real issues that matter to sixth and
seventh graders. Join us in the youth room at 9:15 Sunday mornings!
Confirmation - A program designed to lead young people (generally in the eighth grade)
to an affirmation of belief and a commitment to serve Christ. Meets Sundays at 9:15 a.m.
High School Class - Breakfast Club gathering of ninth through twelfth graders,
with a focus on mutual support and faith deepening by connecting faith to nature,
media, the arts and discussion. Meets Sundays at 10:15 a.m. at Harvest Moon.
Vacation Bible School - A summer experience for five weekday evenings in which
children ages three through twelve learn lessons from the Bible, make crafts, sing songs
and play games. The older youth help with teaching and the activities.
Church Camp - The United Church of Christ
has two camps north of Columbus (Pilgrim Hills and Templed Hills) that offer a multitude
of retreats and camping experiences for all ages.
Dunkirk Family Camp - Each year in mid-July, there is an opportunity for families
of all kinds to enjoy a week together in fellowship and learning in the relaxed atmosphere
of Dunkirk Conference Center, on the shores of Lake Erie in New York state.

Youth Fellowship Opportunities
PAKT56 - Parents and Kids Together 5th and 6th grades is a monthly gathering
for fifth and sixth graders and their parents to strengthen lines of communication and
grow in faith. Meetings include time for parents and youth to meet together and by
themselves. The group meets on the third Sunday of each month.
7-Up - A youth group just for 7th graders meeting on the first Sunday of each
month. Designed around adventures, the gathering seeks to build friendships which can
be carried through Confirmation in the eighth grade.
Confirmation - Meets weekly on Sunday mornings for study. Additionally, there
are fellowship outings each month to help foster friendship among those in the eighth grade.
Sr. High Youth Fellowship - Opportunities for ninth through twelfth graders to
grow in their faith. Activities include lock-ins, traveling to work camps and outdoor fun.
The Sr. High Youth Fellowship meets twice monthly, usually on the second and fourth Sundays.
