MUSICAL MINISTRY
Sharing God's message of love through music goes beyond hymn-singing at David's.
From classical to contemporary, our various music groups, along with special music,
offer something for everyone.
Chancel Choir - Our adult choir, directed by Janet Bristol,
rehearses each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the
Sanctuary from September to June. A variety of music is presented, along with
special seasonal music throughout the church year. The Chancel Choir also
participates in an annual choir festival each May, held at David Evangelical Lutheran
Church.
Cherub and Christ Choirs -
This season will feature the Cherub
Choir (ages 4 through 2nd grade) during September and October. We then look
forward to highlighting the Christ Choir (2nd through 6th grades)
in November and December. Both choirs practice at 6:15 on Wednesday evenings
in the Youth Room. Molly Hinkle directs both Children's Choirs.
Hallelujah Ringers - Our Handbell Choir is directed
by Janet Bristol.
The Hallelujah Ringers rehearse Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. from September to June.
Joyful Noise - This intergenerational gathering of instrumentalists meets
and performs in each season of the church year.
Sunday in the Key of G
- Our newest group performs monthly and lends an eclectic, contemporary
sound to our services.
David's Eight - SATB times two! Our troupe of
traveling vocalists performs
periodically throughout the year. David's Eight
also performs for civic associations like FFA, Kiwanis, etc. and nursing homes,
and may be available for your special event! For information, contact the church
office by e-mail
or phone us at 614-837-7734.
Steve Petty coordinates the music for our early Sunday worship service and
is always interested promoting the "local talent". If you'd like a chance to
enhance our first service with your music - whether singing, liturgical dance or
an instrument is your specialty - let Steve know by
e-mailing the church office or phoning
614-837-7734.
Jane McFadden serves as our church organist.
During the summer months, a variety of special musical talent is presented during
worship services.
