STRATEGIC PLANS
Mission Center Strategic Plan
2007 and Beyond
Grounded in the past, living in the present, planning for the
future,

Anchored in our church's vision statement, this plan names a
vision, a mission, values, goals, objectives, and action plans
for the development of a facility that will foster Christian
growth, and a myriad of child care and community outreach
programs. David's UCC Mission Center Strategic Plan is the "road
map" that will guide relevancy and growth of the organization
into the year "2007 and Beyond."
This plan is a "living document" that provides guidance and
direction regarding Mission Center mission and priorities. It is
also a tool to facilitate the goals and objectives identified as
critical for the Mission Center Strategic Plan to be
implemented.
Vision
"We envision the Mission Center as a place that will enhance
opportunities for Christian growth, child care and community
outreach."
Mission
To provide a clean, safe, and welcoming multipurpose facility
for the ministries of David's United Church of Christ that will
build upon our commitments that:
a. Our congregation's life is centered around worship.
b. Our members' spiritual growth is encouraged through
education, fellowship, and service.
c. Our community is enriched by acts of justice, service and
care for the vulnerable.
Values Statements
JUSTICE: "What does God require, but to do justice, love
kindness and walk humbly with your God" Micah 6:8. We believe
that are are called to do justice. We understand that in our
treating everyone fairly, in our equal sharing of resources, we
participate as faithful disciples in the world.
LOVE: "and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
as you are being rooted and grounded in love." Ephesians 3:17 We
believe that in receiving God's love we are caled in return to
share that same divine compassion and care with others. Love is
our inspiration, our motivation and the goal for which we
strive.
INCLUSION: "Welcome one another... just as Christ has welcomed
you, for the glory of God." Romans 15:7 We believe that we are
called to be inclusive. In our welcoming of others, showing
respect for all and the encouragement of each other in the
ministry that has been set before us, we honor the vision of a
world where we all know peace.
DYNAMIC: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like
children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever
becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of
heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."
Matthew 18:3 We believe that we are called to be dynamic. Just
as children are open to the world around them, learning and
adapting, so, too, are we. Being open to change and to growth in
the breadth and depth of our congregation is vital to our
future.
QUALITY: "But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you
a still more excellent way." I Corinthians 12:31 We believe
quality needs to be reflected in all we do. In our responses to
the needs of the community, through the sharing of gifts God has
given us, we are always open to finding a more excellent way.
GRATITUDE: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach
and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in
your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God."
Colossians 3:16 With reverent appreciation for all that has been
given us, we believe that in all things, we must be grateful for
all that has been entrusted to our care. As stewards of the
congregation's tradition, resources, and values, we move forward
in all things mindful and grateful for all who have gone before
and for all that lies before us.
Strategies
The Mission Center will be an organizational multiplier allowing
David's UCC to accomplish a full spectrum of outreach programs,
child care missions and ministries. Our strategic imperatives
are those areas in which we must succeed in order to accomplish
our vision, goals, and objectives.
a. Our Strategic Imperatives (Critical Success Factors) are:
1. Acceptance/Support - Key community and congregational
ingredient in transforming the Mission Center into a fully
functional, active, growing, high quality facility.
2. Resources - Secure and manage resources to ensure a quality
facility with sound fiscal accountability.
3. Project Realization - Professionally plan, design and develop
the property to meet the needs of the congregation.
b. Our Strategies are:
1. Analyze - Ensure timelines, measures and trends are assigned
and regularly reported by action owners for making fact-based
decisions in pursuit of the highest state of excellence.
2. Resource - Optimize, allocate, and effectively manage all
available resources.
3. Communicate/Market - Our plans - actions, programs, and tasks
to leverage and sustain projected growth.
