COMMITTEES

Consistory
The Consistory is the executive body of the church. It is composed of the Pastor
and Associate Pastor (both ex-officio), six Deacons elected by the congregation, six Elders elected by the congregation, and one representative from the Board
for Christian Growth. The duties of the Elders and Deacons are described in length
in the Constitution. You must be a member for at least one year before being eligible
to be a Deacon, and you must be a Deacon before being eligible to be an Elder. The
terms are for three years. In essence, the Consistory authorizes the payment of bills,
sets overall policy for the church, appoints committees, promotes stewardship,
and determines the current expense budget.

The Committees
The committees listed below are ongoing and meet regularly. They are listed in no
particular order and bear comparable significance. Special committees
are sometimes formed to support specific projects, then disbanded upon project
completion and are not mentioned here. Though not listed in the Organizational Chart,
the Cinderellas, a group of women volunteers who meet each Tuesday at the church,
deserve special recognition. They remember our shut-ins with gifts and visits,
cook and clean for us, help decorate for special events and do all the nice things
our mothers did for us when we were young, oftentimes without being asked. Many
thanks to this special group of ladies who quietly serve Christ by serving all of us!
